Life Lessons Fast Facts

  1. We believe in the importance of social and emotional learning and it’s impact on students.

  2. We’ve spent 300+ hours speaking with SEL educators and administrators across the U.S. to understand their experiences and challenges.

  3. Developmental psychologist, Dr. Erin Bogan  (Independent Consultant and Former Director of Evaluation Research at CASEL) helped design our game’s approach. Kori Smith (Former SEL Director at Atlanta Public Schools) also collaborated to help us provide the best available social and emotional learning framework for students and teachers.

  4. The Life Lessons Education program is based in part on The Bogan Whole Child Approach to Program and Curriculum Design Bogan © 2024, an evidence-based, holistic developmental strategy for supporting children’s social emotional learning. This approach coupled with our game provides our students with a fun and engaging way to build and exercise SEL skills through an evidenced-based SEL problem-solving framework.

What We Aim For

  • A fun, project-based and collaborative approach to building social and emotional learning competencies.

  • Combining gamified lessons with live discussion around real-world SEL situations that students might encounter in their own lives.

For Students:

  • Technology that’s simple to set up and use (less than 3 clicks to start a lesson).

  • Support from a framework that integrates key takeaways into the classroom to promote stronger social and emotional skills.

  • Visibility for educators into a student’s understanding, growth with social and emotional learning, and overall well being.

For Educators:
